Nirupam Aich

Dr. Nirupam Aich is the Richard L. McNeel Associate Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. He leads the Aich Laboratory for Environment, Nanotechnology, and Sustainability (#AichLENS), where his research focuses on sustainable nanotechnology, advanced materials, water treatment, PFAS and emerging contaminant detection and remediation, micro/nanoplastics, and AI-enabled materials discovery. Dr. Aich’s work integrates environmental engineering, nanomaterials, and sustainability to develop safer and more effective technologies for protecting water, public health, and the environment. He has received several recognitions, including the NSF CAREER Award, the SNO Emerging Investigator Award, the AEESP Distinguished Service Award, and the AAEES 40 Under 40 Award. Through SNO, he is committed to advancing sustainable and responsible nanotechnology research, supporting early-career researchers and students, and strengthening an inclusive global community of scholars and practitioners.
