Wenjie Xia

Dr. Wenjie Xia is an Associate Professor in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at Iowa State University. His research focuses on the computational design and modeling of multifunctional materials, integrating physics-based modeling, multiscale simulation, artificial intelligence, and experiments to understand and engineer material properties and performance. His work spans functional materials and coatings, sensing, energy and environmental applications, and the prediction of nanomaterial properties, performance, and environmental impacts. Dr. Xia has received several honors, including the NSF CAREER Award, ACS PMSE Young Investigator Award, ASME Rising Star of Mechanical Engineering, and SNO Emerging Investigator Award.
